DIFFERENT DEFINITIONS OF AI

As you have read earlier, Artificial Intelligence refers to the ability of machines or computer programs to carry
out certain tasks that require human beings to use their intelligence. In simple terms, AI is an approach to make
a computer, a robot, or a product to think how smart humans think.

The different definitions of AI are defined by different organisations as:
u According to NITI Aayog, ‘AI is the ability of machines to perform cognitive tasks like thinking, perceiving,
learning, problem solving and decision making. In simple terms, Artificial intelligence is concerned with
designing intelligent man-made devices like robots. Today AI has become a part of our life. Nowadays many
companies are trying to implement this technology for better productivity.’

u According to Britannica, ‘Artificial intelligence (AI) refers to the ability of a digital computer or computer-
controlled robot to perform tasks commonly associated with intelligent beings. The term is frequently
applied to the project of developing systems endowed with intellectual characteristic of humans, such as
the ability to reason, discover meaning, generalize, or learn from past experience.’
In a nutshell, Artificial intelligence has the power to streamline customer service interactions and enhance
customer engagement. The experts of Artificial Intelligence are working on automatic learning, knowledge
engineering, artificial vision, natural language processing and data mining, to get really interesting and useful
solutions.
MACHINE LEARNING

Machine learning is another form of AI that makes the system able to learn
automatically from past experience or past information. For example, Virtual
Personal assistants such as Siri, Alexa, etc. Machine learning is an important
part of these personal assistants as they collect and refine the information on
the basis of your previous involvement with them.

DEEP LEARNING

Deep learning or deep neural learning is a subset of machine learning techniques that is capable of learning by
example. A large amount of labeled data is required in Deep learning technique. To put it simply, it is a process of
